Mauritius attained its independence on 12 March 1968 and became a republic in 1992.
Together, our ancestors overcame so many difficulties. Let us continue this tradition of always working hard and taking care of the most vulnerable and being the rainbow nation that we are called.
This year, for Independence Day, we will not be at the Champs de Mars to participate in the festivities, but we will be at home cherishing some great moments with our family.
Do enjoy it and be proud of your independence!
Happy National Day!
